The Terry McMillan Award for Musical Excellence and Leadership
Terry James McMillan was a THS Band trumpet player from 1976 - 1979. He made honor band each year beginning as a 7th grader. As a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior, he was selected for All State Band, the only THS student to accomplish this. He served as band captain and received the Louis Armstrong award. He was extremely talented, he loved music, and he loved the Tiger Band.

Applicant must:

Be a senior graduating this year

Must have been in band for 4 years

Must have held a leadership position in band

Submit a typed 250-word essay detailing why he/she should receive the award

Provide two academic and/or professional references (References must not be related to applicant.)

Submit the application form
Award will be in the amount of $500.
